Larry O'Brien recently interviewed three of the Gang of Four about their seminal work on patterns. Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software. The pattern specifications follow the same form as in GOF's Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software. Between objects that have been adapted to deal with certain forces can be observed both in the "real world" and in software objects. This term was coined in a famous book that proposed a catalogue of "Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software", and became a best-seller in the Java world (usually referred to as the "GoF" book, for "Gang of Four" authors). Ralph: Some of those languages don't need some of the See A Look Back: Why We Wrote Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software. A set of the most common patterns were catalogued in a book entitled Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software, more affectionately known as the Design Patterns Bible . While blog posts and other online sources are good for quick answers, nothing beats sitting down with a well-written book on a subject. The examples follow in sections 2 through 4. Larry teased the interview's readers for awhile, but he eventually Erich: Just as an aside, it is also easy to forget that we wrote design patterns before there was Java or C#. It was because of that that I came across Design Patterns and the GoF (Gang of Four, referring to the 4 authors of the seminal and original work, “Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software” found here on Amazon). To test this hypothesis, a real world example was sought for each of the 23 Gang of Four Patterns [13]. Erich Gamma, Richard Helm, Ralph Johnson, and John Vlissides are known as the Gang of Four (GoF). They wrote an influential book titled Design Patterns, Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software. Feeling the golden ore, all editors quickly produced a whole line of similar books, where patterns were adapted to various domains and languages : for C##, for Ruby, , etc. This book was written by Erich Gamma, Richard Helm, Ralph Johnson, and John Vlissides, better known as the Gang of Four(GOF). The fifth chapter is the first part of the EDP catalog. More than a decade ago by Erich Gamma, Richard Helm, Ralph Johnson and John Vlissides known as the Gang of Four (GoF) published their seminal book "Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software". This paper presents a real world, non software instance of each design pattern from the book, Design Patterns - Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software [13]. Of using object-oriented programming languages.
